Epic Tale
For me, self-portraits are extremely confrontational. But I find it as a really good exercise in practicing honesty. It takes a lot to take yourself outside yourself and see yourself for who you really are. Artists that are self-portrait fanatics that I enjoy are Rembrandt, Frida, Caravaggio, and Van Gogh.
The practice of self-portraying has improved my relationships with my family, friends, and myself.
Among all the self-portrait projects I’ve done in the past, Epic Tale is my favorite. It’s a self-portrait and personal survey of certain portions of my life.
